Kara Seger has been professionally pet sitting since 2000. She has a passion for caring for all animals. She has cared for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, fish, reptiles, chickens, ducks, goats, and horses! She has a great deal of experience with special needs pets, including diabetics and geriatric pets. While growing up in Connecticut and Virginia, Kara's family shared their lives with dogs and guinea pigs (her dad and sister were allergic to cats, much to Kara's dismay!).
Kara moved to Wisconsin in June 2007 with her husband, Eric. Prior to that she provided care to pets in Northern Virginia. Kara and Eric welcomed their first child in 2010. He is an absolute joy and they love sharing their lives with a little human creature!
Pictured above is their first cat, Kali. They adopted her in 2001 when she was 4-5 years old. She was a wonderful, affectionate cat that always kept them smiling. Kali passed away in 2010 & is deeply missed every day.
They have a 15-year-old cat named Nia & a 5-year-old cat named Nar- Nar (this is how their then 3-year-old son pronounced Nadia & it stuck!) Nia was a feral kitten living in a Reston, VA sewer when Kara rescued her & her siblings. Nar-Nar/Nadia was a client's foster cat that captured Kara's heart.
Kara taught obedience training using positive reinforcement methods while working part time for C&C Pals in Virginia. She is always happy to share tips and tricks to help create a happy home for you and your pet.
When not caring for pets she enjoys reading, photography, nature, drawing, crafts, cooking, hiking, movies, going to festivals, and above all, spending time with her family.
